LSAT Inbox — August 7, 2024

Welcome to the LSAT Inbox! This is a blog series that answers frequently asked questions about the LSAT®. We encourage you to check back often for answers to more questions you may have as you prepare for the test.

Can I take LSAT Argumentative Writing at a test center?

While most test takers have a choice of whether to take the multiple-choice portion of the LSAT in person at a test center or in a live, remote-proctored environment, LSAT Argumentative Writing is only offered remotely.

Can I receive accommodations on the LSAT if I didn’t receive accommodations during undergrad?

Receiving accommodations in undergrad or during any prior educational experiences is not a requirement for receiving accommodations on the LSAT. For information about testing accommodations including what accommodations might be available and documentation requirements, please visit the Testing Accommodations page on our website.

Does applying for additional accommodations affect already approved accommodations?

No, applying for additional accommodations will not affect accommodations you have already been approved to receive. Please visit the Testing Accommodations page on our website for more information.

I’m taking the LSAT for the first time and am not sure how to start studying.

If you’re just getting started preparing for the test, it would be helpful to familiarize yourself with the content and sections of the LSAT. You can visit the Types of LSAT Questions page on our website for an explanation of the test and sample questions for each section.

Additionally, LawHub™, powered by LSAC®, offers numerous resources, including LSAT PrepTests External link opens in new browser window, which use the official interface you’ll experience on test day. Taking a PrepTest is a great way to figure out your strengths and weaknesses and learn how to focus your studying moving forward.
