LSAT Inbox – April 2, 2025
What should I do if I experience a technical issue during my remote test?
Restart your computer and reopen the ProProctor page. This step resolves most technical issues. Please make sure your system is updated with the newest version of OS before taking your test.
If this step doesn’t solve the technical issue, disconnect from your proctor. Then, please click the “Contact Support” button on the top right of the ProProctor start page. Once on the ProProctor Help page, click the chat button on the bottom right corner. You will be prompted to answer a series of questions before connecting to a live agent.
What MacOS system is compatible with Prometric ProProctor live proctoring system?
Prometric’s ProProctor software is only compatible with Microsoft or macOS on laptops or desktops. We encourage you to complete a system check before test day to ensure your device and operating system meet the requirements.
I am an international test taker for the April 2025 LSAT. Is there anything else I need to know regarding my test?
Yes, you will be taking your April 2025 LSAT on Friday, April 11. Please log into your account and double check your testing time, including the time zone, to prevent confusion.
What do I need to start the test?
You will need your LawHub user ID and password whether you are testing remotely or at a test center. You will need a government-issued ID, expired less than three months, and you will need to be present within half an hour of your scheduled time to complete your test. Please review the Identification Accepted for LSAT Admission page on our website for more details about acceptable identification.
I passed the system check a few days ago, but now it’s saying that I can’t proceed. Why?
The basic system check tests for basic compatibility in your system and internet speed. The check on test day identifies if there are any additional applications that need to be shut down or if you need to disable any firewalls.
I am stuck on the photo upload step in connecting to my proctor. What do I do?
Please check your internet connection as this error is usually due to a weak connection.
I can’t hear the proctor/they can’t hear me. What do I do?
Once you connect to your proctor, you can’t change any audio or microphone settings. The program tends to dampen sound; if you normally have your audio levels at 50%, you should consider raising them. Some candidates find that 80-85% works better when in the Prometric browser. If your proctor can’t hear you or if you can’t hear them, you will be directed to sign out, adjust your settings, and then sign back in. You must be able to hear each other to continue with the test.
I keep getting flashing banner notifications, and the proctor told me to sign out and turn them off. What do I do?
How to turn off notifications on a Mac to prevent a pop-up flashing banner issue during the test:
- On your Mac, navigate to the Apple Menu.
- Click System Settings.
- Choose notifications in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
- Below Application Notifications on the right, click an app or website, then turn off “Allow notifications.” You won't receive notifications for it until you turn on “Allow notifications” again.
How to turn off notifications on a Windows device to prevent a pop-up flashing banner issue during the test:
- Select Start > Settings > System > Notifications
- To turn on “Do not disturb,” select “On.”
- You can also turn on do not disturb automatically.
- When do not disturb is on, the notification center icon will change and hide any incoming notifications.
