Call for Statements of Interest to Serve on LSAC Committees

LSAC is a membership organization composed entirely of law schools. LSAC works to understand the needs of its members, in part, by engaging admission professionals, faculty, and deans through volunteer service on the Board of Trustees and standing committees. Every two years, before a new chair of the LSAC Board of Trustees takes office, members of the law school community are invited to express interest in serving on the various committees, subcommittees, and regular work groups of LSAC. These committees, subcommittees, and work groups play a significant role in developing LSAC policy and in implementing many services, and it is critical that we have a highly qualified, diverse, and engaged pool of volunteers.

Committee member appointments are for one-year terms with the expectation of renewal for a second year. Most (although not all) committees meet twice each year and, in many cases, subgroups of committees have assignments that may entail additional meetings or other tasks.

How to Volunteer

To volunteer, complete and submit a Statement of Interest Form, along with your résumé.

To recommend someone else for consideration, complete and submit a Committee Recommendation Form. A member of the LSAC governance staff will contact that individual and ask them to complete a Statement of Interest Form.

Statement of Interest Forms must be received by Monday, June 12, 2023, to ensure full consideration.

If you require any kind of assistance in completing the Statement of Interest Form, please contact volunteers@LSAC.org. Do be aware that you will need to attach your résumé to the Statement of Interest Form, so you will want to have it available before submitting the form.

Selection Process

The committee chairs will meet in late June to select volunteers for the standing committees and the two board committees that include nonvoting advisors (the Audit Committee and the Investment Committee). Subcommittee, work group, and task force members will be identified at a later date.
