Summary of Position
Cornell Law School seeks an Assistant Registrar to serve as a vital member of the Law Registrar team.
The Assistant Registrar collaborates closely with the Registrar, Senior Assistant Registrar, students, faculty, staff, and colleagues across campus, including the University Registrar on a wide array of activities. They play an integral in providing student services and supporting the mission of the office to maintain and protect the academic records of current and former students. The Assistant Registrar also ensures accurate academic records, classroom scheduling, student enrollment data analysis, information support, and reporting for student services. Duties including the following:
- Leading the management and retention of student records, including reporting of all aspects of students’ status and creating academic documents.
- Supervising the tracking of bar passages and submission of bar passage and other reports to the American Bar Association (ABA) and other external agencies.
- Overseeing the certification of graduation and completion of requirements to bar examiners, including coordinating data tracking and reporting on student character and fitness.
- Coordinating grade entry, as well as processing transfer credits and other related administrative responsibilities.
- Overseeing the accuracy and accessibility of Office of the Registrar webpages.
- Continually leveraging technology to advance office systems and processes consistent with current best practices to meet student, faculty, and administrative leadership expectations.
- Ensuring compliance with various university, accrediting and government entities’ regulations.
- Accurately disseminating sensitive and confidential information regarding student records in accordance with university and college policies and FERPA regulations.
Additional Information
What we need:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2-4 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting the efforts of an overall team.
- Experience in student services and an understanding of student records administration, including knowledge of current records, registration, and enrollment policies and processes and academic policy trends.
- Understanding of FERPA and knowledge of privacy and confidential rules as they relate to student information.
- Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, administration, and community members.
- Proficient in using and formatting word processing, spreadsheet, and database packages.
- This position will utilize a variety of school and university computer applications and complete multiple tasks involving a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential data.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to establish effective and productive working relationships.
- Must be organized and able to manage competing priorities simultaneously while handling constant interruptions, ensuring accuracy and paying close attention to detail with timely completion.
- Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

- Familiarity with university policies and procedures, and the role of the Registrar’s Office at both the university and Law School levels.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, 25Live, Exam4, Stellic, Workday, and CourseLeaf.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience working in a Cornell student service office (such as OUR (Office of the University Registrar), Bursar, Financial Aid, Graduate School, or other college registrar office) or in a high activity office with a strong service orientation.

Pay Range:
$70,978 - $82,488
