U.S. Active Military and the LSAT

If you are active duty in the U.S. military and stationed abroad, you may qualify to register for and take any LSAT administration.

If You Will Be Stationed in the U.S. or Canada During Testing

If you will be located in the United States (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) or Canada during your chosen LSAT administration, no further action is required beyond completing your test registration.

If You Will Be Stationed Internationally During Testing

Please visit Upcoming LSAT Dates to determine whether your chosen LSAT administration is administered internationally. International test dates can be found by clicking the International tab.

If your chosen LSAT administration is being administered internationally, please register for the international test date. You can do this by entering the location where you’ll be stationed at the time of testing during the “Testing Location” portion of the registration process. No further action is required beyond completing your test registration.

If your chosen LSAT administration is only being administered domestically, please enter your U.S. non-military home address during the “Testing Location” portion of the registration process. Once you have completed your LSAT registration, please email the following information to TestSecurity@LSAC.org:

  • Use subject line: Active Duty U.S. Military
  • Legal first and last name (exactly as it’s listed on your test-day ID)
  • LSAC account number
  • LSAT administration you have registered for
  • Location from which you will be stationed during the LSAT administration and plan to test from
  • Military/Department of Defense ID Number

Do NOT send a photograph of your military ID. By law, U.S. military IDs cannot be photographed and thus cannot be accepted for validation or used for online testing.

This is important. Decisions (which are final) will be made on a case-by-case basis. We must receive your request by the administration’s registration deadline. If you are ultimately granted approval to test internationally during a domestic LSAT administration, you will be limited to the remote modality.
