The University of New Mexico African American Student Services Summer BEST Academy is an academic program that takes a holistic approach in shaping education for African American 8th-grade students.

The two-week academic program will emphasize the development of students’ math and science skills, introduce them to college life, and stimulate their interest in STEM degree programs and career paths.

One of those paths is a career in law. The UNM School of Law will host these students to show them what kinds of careers within the law profession are open to students with STEM backgrounds.
