The Penn Law Outreach Program is designed to assist high potential undergraduate and community college students from ethnically diverse, first-generation college, and/or disadvantaged backgrounds with their preparation for admission to law school. Students must be enrolled with a greater Philadelphia area community college or four-year institution when they apply to the program. Seniors may only apply if they have not yet applied to any law school and will not apply to any law school until after September 2019.
The program's objective is to help these students acquire the skills necessary for successful completion of the bachelor's degree, competitive performance on the LSAT (Law School Admission Test), and successful entry into law school.
The program begins in the spring semester of the 2018 - 2019 academic year, and concludes with the participant's completion of a "JD Action Plan" and application to law school, if applicable. Participation requires a one-semester commitment of several Saturdays during the spring 2019 semester. Attendance is mandatory in ALL classes and presentations. The deadline for application is Thursday, December 20, 2018. The program will commence on February 16, 2019, and will run through early April.
