The NY Statewide Diversity Pipeline is an initiative that partners law students from New York's 15 law schools with Legal Outreach to train the law students to teach law lessons to eighth-grade students in selected middle schools across the State. The law students selected as Diversity and Inclusion Instructors will expose the eighth-grade students to the role of law as instrument of change through one or more participatory classroom sessions, demonstrating the opportunity and possibility of pursuing a legal education. Eighth-grade students in the metropolitan New York area will be eligible to participate in Legal Outreach's Summer Law Institute and continue through Legal Outreach's year-long academic program to promote access to higher education.
NY Statewide Diversity Pipeline events take place at various New York state middle schools from February 25–May 10, 2019.
