From Law School to the Bench

Tuesday, October 9, 2018, 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. EDT
Southwestern Law School
3050 Wilshire Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90010

Law school is just one of many steps along a future jurist's path toward an impactful career within the legal profession. Becoming an attorney is perhaps the most common of career objectives, but what about becoming a judge? How does a law student maximize opportunities inside and outside the classroom to better prepare for life as a member of the bench? To answer this question, Southwestern Law School hosted high school and undergraduate students for a sit-down with a Los Angeles Superior Court judge. Following a campus tour, the students heard firsthand what the path from law school to the bench entails, the challenges, and the critical role judges serve in our judicial system.

This event was hosted by Southwestern Law School's Admissions Office in conjunction with the Law School Admission Council's Diversity Matters initiatives.
