BYU Law Camp is a week-long, residential, summer camp hosted by the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University ("BYU Law") at which high school students from across the country explore principles of civic engagement and leadership through the lens of the law. Participants stay on campus at Brigham Young University ("BYU") and are mentored personally by current BYU Law students.
At Law Camp, participants engage with prominent legal practitioners, scholars, and community leaders, participate in hands-on, interactive activities related to various areas of law and civics, visit a federal courthouse, and observe live court proceedings. Past activities have also included negotiation, mock trial, and moot court simulations as well as workshops related to immigration law and implicit bias.
A primary objective of BYU Law Camp is to invite and include high school students and mentors from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of life experiences and perspectives. Scholarships are available and are awarded primarily based on financial need.
