LSAT Update – September 25, 2024
Welcome to the LSAT Update, your source for the latest news you can use about the LSAT!
October 2024 LSAT Scheduling Is Coming to a Close!
If you’re registered for the October 2024 LSAT, keep in mind that the scheduling window is about to close. If you’re planning to take your test in the online, live remote-proctored environment, scheduling is open until Saturday, September 28 at 11:59 ET.
Scheduling for in-person testing and for test takers who have testing accommodations that include a paper-and-pencil format has already closed.
Keep in mind that Prometric handles the scheduling process. So, should you encounter any difficulty scheduling your testing session, contact Prometric via phone at 1.800.350.5517. If you have approved testing accommodations, contact Prometric at 1.800.967.1139 and use Option 4.
Update on MacOS Sequoia
Apple Inc. announced its release of the MacOS 15 Sequoia system on Monday, September 16. If you plan to schedule a remote session for the October 2024 LSAT using macOS, we want to let you know that the macOS Sequoia system is currently NOT supported by the Prometric ProProctor live proctoring software.
If you plan to take the October 2024 LSAT remotely and plan to use a MacOS system, we strongly urge you to wait until after the test to install MacOS Sequoia.
The ProProctor live software is only compatible with Microsoft or MacOS 10.13 to 12.6.5; MacOS Ventura 13.3.1 or higher; and all versions of MacOS Sonoma.
We will keep November 2024 LSAT test takers updated on the compatibility of MacOS Sequoia for the November test.
LSAT Argumentative Writing for October Is Now Open
All test takers must have a completed and approved LSAT Argumentative Writing sample on file to receive their score or have their score released to law schools. LSAT Argumentative Writing for the October 2024 test opened Monday, September 23.
Given the large volume of test takers, we strongly encourage you to complete your LSAT Argumentative Writing as soon as it becomes available.
Remember that if you have an approved LSAT Argumentative Writing or LSAT Writing sample from a previous LSAT administration, you do not need to complete a new LSAT Argumentative Writing sample.
You can access LSAT Argumentative Writing from your LSAC JD Account through the Launch LSAT Argumentative Writing button. For the best experience, we advise that you begin your session only when you are fully prepared to complete your security checks and move forward with taking your writing test.
This is important. When you click on the Launch LSAT Argumentative Writing button on your LSAC JD Account, you will be directed to the Meazure Learning (ProctorU) site to create an account or link to an existing account. If you have an existing account and can’t remember your password, please follow the “Forgot Password” steps on the ProctorU Support Page. Creating a duplicate account may cause delays in launching your test. If you have questions, please contact ProctorU at 855.772.8678.
