LSAT Inbox — September 4, 2024
Welcome to the LSAT Inbox! This is a blog series that answers frequently asked questions about the LSAT®. We encourage you to check back often for answers to more questions you may have as you prepare for the test.
Is it possible to register for the LSAT after the registration deadline? I am willing to pay a late fee.
No, you cannot register for an LSAT administration after the registration deadline for that administration has passed. However, you may register for the next available administration. Registration is available for the November 2024 LSAT until September 26, 2024. Please view our Test Dates page for information about future registration deadlines.
What should I do if I experience a technical issue while taking the LSAT remotely?
Please make sure your system is updated with the newest version of OS before taking the LSAT. If you encounter technical issues, restart your computer and reopen the ProProctor page. This step resolves most technical issues.
If this doesn’t resolve your problem, click the “Contact Support” button on the top right of your screen. Once on the ProProctor Help page, click the chat button on the bottom right corner. You will be prompted to answer a series of questions before connecting to a live agent.
Will a live agent be able to take over my screen remotely if I need troubleshooting assistance while taking the LSAT?
The live agent will not be able to control your computer remotely but will assist you with questions and prompted actions to resolve your issues. Once your issue is resolved, they will direct you on the steps needed to reconnect to a readiness agent and then to a proctor.
Do I need an external webcam for my desktop?
Yes, an external webcam is required for your desktop computer even if your computer has a built-in camera. If you do not have a webcam for your desktop computer, you will not be able to complete a room scan and start your test.
Can I access a system check before test day to ensure my device meets all system requirements?
Yes, please visit https://eu-rpcandidate.prometric.com/ to complete a system check of your device.
What identification is required to take the LSAT?
To take the LSAT (including LSAT Argumentative Writing), you must present a physical, valid international passport or a physical, valid government-issued photo ID issued by the United States of America, U.S. Territories, or Canada. The ID must sufficiently authenticate your identity to your proctor and LSAC.
How can I contact LSAC if I have additional questions?
If you have a question that wasn’t answered here, you can contact us using our “Chat” feature by clicking on the chat icon on the bottom right corner of the LSAT pages on our website, via email at LSACinfo@LSAC.org, or by phone at 1.800.336.3982.
