LSAT Inbox — July 24, 2024

Welcome to the LSAT Inbox! This is a blog series that answers frequently asked questions about the LSAT®. We encourage you to check back often for answers to more questions you may have as you prepare for the test.

I would like to schedule my test date; however, my accommodation request is still under review. When will I be able to schedule?

You can login to your account and navigate to LSAT/The LSAT/ LSAT Status: View All LSAT Information to review your accommodation approval letter once posted. You will be able to schedule your test when scheduling opens, depending on if your accommodations require a specific modality. You will be able to schedule based on your requested accommodations while your request is under review.

I have requested accommodations for the September test, and it is still pending. I now need to move my test to October for personal reasons. Does my pending request carry over to October, or do I need to re-request accommodations?

The request that you submitted for September has not yet been approved and will not be carried over. You will need to request your accommodations for October before the deadline by logging into your account and navigating to the LSAT dropdown and selecting “Request or Modify Accommodation.”

I want to schedule for a specific test date and cannot do so. Can you assist me?

Scheduling is offered on a staggered schedule based on your preferred test date and modality. Please make sure you are selecting a date and time that is available based on the staggered schedule. View the schedule online. You may review scheduling steps on the How to Schedule Your LSAT Testing Time page on our website for step-by-step assistance.

Will I be able to choose my testing time during the registration process?

No. When you register for the LSAT, you will be asked your preference for scheduling only. Please note that you are not scheduled for your exam with these preferences. You will still need to schedule your exam. Scheduling opens approximately two weeks prior to the test (you will receive a reminder email approximately one week before this time with more information). During scheduling is when you will be able to make your final choice of the test dates and times available. You may visit How to Schedule Your LSAT for more information and Upcoming LSAT Dates for specific dates and deadlines.

Can LSAC assist with scheduling? I am unable to complete the steps.

All scheduling must be completed directly with Prometric. You can contact them at 1.800.350.5517. If you have testing accommodations, contact Prometric at 1.800.967.1139 and use Option 4. Please make sure you are selecting a date and time that is available based on the staggered schedule. If you have approved accommodations that require a specific modality, you must schedule in that modality. You can begin this process directly from your online services account by following these steps:

  1. Visit the LSAT status page of your online account.
  2. Follow the links to schedule within your eligible testing modality and window.
  3. You will be redirected to Prometric’s ProScheduler tool.
  4. Agree to Prometric’s Personal Data Privacy Disclosure & Consent form.
  5. If you’re scheduling to take the LSAT in the online, remotely proctored environment, select your testing location time zone and preferred test date. If you’re scheduling to take the LSAT in person at a Prometric test center, enter your physical address and preferred test date.
  6. Select your desired appointment time, validate your demographics, and confirm your appointment.
  7. You will receive a confirmation email. Additionally, you can confirm the details of your testing appointment on the LSAT status page of your LSAC JD Account. (Please note: Your testing appointment may not appear in your LSAC JD Account immediately.)

If you are seeing a message that there is no availability, please make sure the test date and modality is available for scheduling.

How can I ensure I don’t have technical issues if I’m testing remotely?

We suggest that you refer to the Remote LSAT Checklist for important information and tips before test day. We encourage all test takers to check their equipment to ensure that they are able to test successfully on test day. You can test your equipment for remote exams prior to your test date, and we recommend you test prior to scheduling and again closer to your test date.

How can I contact LSAC if I have additional questions?
