Biographical Information Changes

You are responsible for making sure all biographical information in your LSAC file is correct, accurate, and consistent (e.g., legal name, date of birth, Social Security/Social Insurance number, and LSAC account number). Failure to provide accurate and consistent information could prevent you from taking the LSAT or could result in errors, processing delays, file reviews, and possible referral for a misconduct or irregularity investigation.

If you need to make changes to the information in your account profile, please follow the instructions below. Should LSAC become aware of a discrepancy in your biographical information, you will be notified in writing and asked to provide the correct information. You might also be asked to provide documentation to support the biographical information change. In some instances, a reporting hold may be placed on your file until the matter is resolved. This hold will prevent your LSAT score from being released and CAS Reports from being sent to the law schools to which you apply.

Legal First and Last Name

If you have an LSAC JD Account, you can make updates to your legal first and last name through your online account. Visit the “Profile” page included in the “My Account” menu to make changes.

This is important. If you are registered to take an upcoming LSAT, please make sure the legal first and last name listed in your LSAC JD Account exactly match the first and last name listed on the ID you plan to present on test day.

If you have an LSAC LLM & Other Law Programs account, you must submit changes to your first and last name using the Biographical Information Changes form (PDF).

Date of Birth

All requests for changes to your date of birth must include a copy of your government-issued identification for verification purposes. Requests for changes received without a copy of your identification will not be processed.

If you have an LSAC JD Account, you can submit your request and upload your supporting documentation through your online account.
