Summary of Position

Cornell Law School seeks a Co-Director of Student Services and Advising to provide counseling, advising, and outreach services to a diverse population of students to enhance their personal, professional, and academic success, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality student support. 

Duties include the following:

  • Meeting with J.D., LL.M. and JSD students on course selection and degree requirements, bar requirements, long-range academic plans and goals, as well as non-academic factors affecting academic performance.
  • Providing support and guidance to students in crisis, collaborating with staff and faculty at the Law School and University on complicated/sensitive situations, and working with university departments like Cornell Police and Cornell Health, among other offices, to help resolve issues. 
  • Advising students on character and fitness evaluations and issues related to bar qualification.
  • Directing Orientation programming, as well as other signature student focused events.
  • Serving as a Law School point of contact for partners in the Office of Institutional Equity and Title IX Developing and directing professional development events.
  • Serving as the Graduate Field Administrator for JSD Program.
Education Required: Bachelor’s
Education Preferred: Master’s
Years of Experience Required: 3 to 5 years
Years of Experience Preferred: 5 or more years

Pay Range:

$83,972-$102,632
